STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD

Funding of up to USD 500 and Registration Fee waiver will be provided to selected students and postdoctoral fellows to travel to Nano Today 2009 to present the results of their research. This grant may be used for registration, travel or accommodation at the Nano Today 2009 Conference in Singapore. Only students and postdoctoral fellows who are currently studying at a university outside Singapore are eligible to apply for this travel award. Award recipients will be selected based on the merit of their submitted abstracts. The deadline for applications for the Nano Today 2009 Student Travel Award for the Nano Today 2009 Conference is March 31, 2009.

Terms and Conditions

• This award is open only to students and postdoctoral fellows who are affiliated with a university outside Singapore.
• The organizers will decide on the final grant amount to be awarded to each recipient. Each grant will not exceed USD 500 and Registration Fee waiver.
• This grant may be used to offset the student's travel or accommodation expenses at the Nano Today 2009 Conference in Singapore.
• Award winners must be present at Nano Today 2009 in Singapore to receive their grants in person. The grant will be in the form of cash or bank draft payable to the award winner.
• Each applicant may apply for and accept only one student travel award. All applications must include at least one abstract for consideration, as well as a letter of recommendation from the student's supervisor or professor.
• Applications must be accompanied by a valid student ID or an official letter from his or her University verifying that the applicant is a student or a postdoctoral fellow over the conference period (i.e. August 2-5, 2009).
• The deadline for applications for the Student Travel Award for the Nano Today 2009 Conference is March 31, 2009. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
• Applications will be assessed based on the merit of their submitted abstract.
• Winners will receive an email notification of their award on April 30, 2009*.
• Award winners must register for Nano Today 2009 as a delegate by May 31, 2009 and present their abstracts in person at the Nano Today 2009 meeting in Singapore. The organizers reserve the right to rescind the award from students who do not attend Nano Today 2009 and present their abstract(s) in person.
• The organizers reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of the student travel award without notice.

* All applicants will be notified about the outcome of their application by May 31, 2009.
